You do not need to collect the Medical Certificate of Death. The Doctors surgery or Hospital will forward this Certificate to the Registrar. Once you know this has been done, contact the Southend Registration offices to make an appointment. You can register the death at either the civic centre in Southend or at Southend hospital.

I used Adams for both my parents’ funerals. I instantly felt a bond with the staff and they made it quite clear to me that I could call them 24/7 and no problem was too small or too silly. Donna, Luke and colleagues at Thorpe Bay were so kind, caring and thoughtful. They supported us with the funeral of my late mother. It was a tough time made bearable by their respectful and compassionate professionalism. Donna’s people skills were very impressive indeed and nothing was too difficult for her to arrange. Working from a smart phone only without a computer/printer wasn’t easy for me but she enabled us in our hour of need. Her recommendations for ancillary services were also spot on.
